On Friday, 23 October 2026, The Paper Boys supplied four large Black Soft Walls for a Mazda function held at the Palladium at Crown Melbourne. Installed in the foyer outside the ballroom, the walls helped create a defined entrance while providing a practical solution for concealing event infrastructure.
Creating a defined entrance
Four Black Soft Walls, each spanning approximately 5–6 metres, were positioned on either side of the ballroom entrance.
Rather than being installed in straight lines, the walls were arranged in sweeping curves, helping guide guests towards the doorway and creating a more considered transition from the foyer into the event space.
Concealing the practical elements
Beyond their visual impact, the Soft Walls served an important practical purpose. Their positioning allowed cabling, equipment and sections of the foyer not intended for guest access to be concealed, keeping the entrance looking clean and organised.
The flexible structure of the walls made it possible to follow the layout of the space while maintaining a consistent finish across the installation.
A backdrop for event displays
Plinths, floral arrangements and digital screens were positioned in front of the walls as part of the broader event setup, creating dedicated areas for guest information and displays.
Red event lighting illuminated the pleated surfaces, highlighting their texture and creating a warm glow across the black walls. This added depth to the entrance while complementing the surrounding event styling.
A versatile solution for corporate events
The installation at Crown Palladium demonstrated how Soft Walls can serve multiple purposes within a single event, from guiding guests and concealing equipment to providing a backdrop for signage and displays.
